Aztecs´ sacrifice 250,000 to gods a year
It is now estimated that the Aztec civilization each year sacrificed to their gods 1 percent of the population , or about a quarter of a million people. The dead were eaten by the Aztec masses, whose diet was low in potein. The rich were able to import game from afar, but crop failures regularly deprived the poor of the maize and beans that, in combination, might have supplied adequate protein from vegeterian sources.

Biblical Flood was in Iraq
Excavations at Ur in Iraq show that the Flood recorded in the Bible may have been a flood that occurred along the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers in an area about 400 miles long and 100 miles wide. The water rose high enough to submerge whole cities and deposit a layer of clay eight feet deep. To the survivors, it must have seemed that the entire world had been inundated.

How to preserve a Mummy
No secret, now-forgotten preservatives were involved in preparing an Egyptian mummy. Common substances were used-- such as beeswax, oil and  salt. The procedure, though, could be complicated and take up to seventy days. To be made waterproof, the body was wrapped in bandages, then smeared with wax. The Persian word for the wax was mum. The Arab word was mumia. To us, it's now `mummy´.

Signs of end of the world since 2800 BC
A tablet from ancient Assyria, about 2800 B.C., has been found that states: "Our earth is degenerate in these later days. There are signs that the world is speedily coming to an end. Bribery and corruption are common." More than 2,000 years later, Socrates complained, "Children are now tyrants … they no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobbles up dainties at the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize over their teachers." And Plato wrote of his students: "What is happening to our young people? They disrespect their elders, they disobey their parents. They ignore the law. They riot in the streets inflamed with wild notions. Their morals are decaying. What is to become of them?"
